Eastern Europe has the fastest Internet

Pando Networks, a company that deals with improving the speed of downloading a variety of online content, do research for speed and reliability of Internet connections worldwide. Research is done by 27 million downloads by the 20 million computers in 224 countries in the period from January to July 2011th.



According to this survey, the average download speed in the world is 580 Kbps, a of all 224 countries in the first place after the download speed is South Korea, data that should not be surprising vooshto since almost every household in South Korea connected to the Internet. Average download speeds in South Korea is 2.202 Kbps. If the first place was a surprise second and third are. Second place after a download speed of Romania belongs to 1.909 Kbps, while Bulgaria is third with 1.611 Kbps. Interestingly, the countries of Eastern Europe dominate the top of this list. Lithuania is in fourth place with 1.464 Kbps, Latvia fifth with 1.377 Kpbs and Ukraine on eighth place with 1.190 Kpbs.
In cities, the top six places on the download speeds are those of cities in South Korea, while the top ten only two towns that are not from South Korea. It is an Andover, Massachusetts with 2.801 Kbps and Bucharest with 2.665 Kbps. It is surprising that major economic powers like the United States, Britain, China and Canada are far from the list of states with the fastest Internet.
