Members of the leadership of Chinese Communist Party can now in good conscience use the tablet with which to examine identity documents, read blogs and party colleagues to manage state-owned firms, without worrying that the bourgeoisie of Apple iPad will spoil the image of people by the people, writes Reuters.
The Chinese response to the iPad is RedPad No1 - tablet, Android-based and full of applications that satisfy all the needs of the party activist. Along with luxury and decadent leather case it comes at a price 9999 yuan ($ 1600) - twice higher than that of the most expensive iPad 2.
Price lining comments microblogging platforms in China with debate why the tablet is so expensive and who will pay the bill for the luxuries of public men and women.
"This is not the god of toys, why not offer it bundled with a free iPad?", Said a member of the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo.
Spokesman Liu RedPad Sienzha argued that the price of the tablet is determined entirely by the market. "We are trying to compete with foreign brands," he said in response to the question of whether to purchase RedPad will use taxpayers' money. Liu explained that the price of the tablet is high, because it pre-installed many applications tailored to the needs of bureaucrats and directors of public companies.
Chinese analogue of iPad applications have to check the documents for state accreditation of journalists, as well as microblogging and reading state newspapers.
According to the online survey more than 2,000 active Internet users believe that RedPad was conceived as a symbol of eligibility of the nomenclature, others say 1500 aims to "flay" taxpayers.
"After reading all the articles on the topic, I can say I'm impressed," wrote mikroblogarat Xixizhiniu. "To you, the taxpayers, you do honor to donate 9,999 yuan in the hands of bosses."
